Whiplass

With this drawing of Whiplass, there are several things that viewers immediately find striking about it. Perhaps the most striking feature is the hyperelongated hip section immediately behind the rest of Whippy's elastic body. This feature attests to her stretchy abilities, showing viewers just how elastic and flexible Whiplass is. The stretched out hip area is also somewhat unexpected, since elastic people are generally seen with their extended, rubbery bodies & limbs, but not with extended hips. And indeed, Whippy is also seen showing an elastic, bare midriff, extending off the canvas to the right of viewers, adding to, and reinforcing, her pliant superpowers. Another nice little surprise can be seen in her fingernails, which are colored pink and which, perhaps, serve to remind viewers that Whippy's life is more than just whipping the baddies into submission. All together, it truly is the element of the unexpected that makes this picture very pleasing.
